Where is Cathy? 

My boyfriend was having trouble getting a hold of his mom Cathy. Her phone, had been turned off for several hours, and he was concerned over her whereabouts. I  set out to cast a Horary chart on the question: Where is Cathy? Fortunately, she  called us about 13 minutes after this chart was cast letting us know exactly where she had been. Now I would like to look at this chart as a case study.

In the chart, we need to locate Cathy’s significator planet. She is my boyfriend’s mother, so we start from the seventh house (my boyfriend), and count to his 10th house (mother). We arrive at the radical 4th house cusp in Aquarius (at 23.22 degrees) which is ruled by Saturn. Therefore, Saturn is Cathy’s planetary significator.

Saturn in Capricorn, being in its own sign is considered essentially dignified, and showing that Cathy is a-okay. Saturn, however, is a naturally slow moving planet and was retrograding. Cathy later told us, she was on her way back from doing errands, and that public transportation was very slow. Saturn is located in the 3rd house of communications. The 3rd house represents our daily routines, our short journeys, the transit system, and more specifically the postal service. Cathy confirmed that she was on her way back from the post office after picking up her mail.

Also Saturn is  close to the South Node by about 1 degree. The South Node can represent a diminishing of energy. Cathy stated, the reason why her phone was turned off, was because her phone battery had been low, and she did not want the phone to die. And there you have it. Horary can be simple, straightforward, and specific.
