FIRDAR (Fidaria)

Firdar is a predictive technique which utilizes planetary periods that mark chapters in the life of an individual.  For day charts the planetary period are as follows: Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, North Node, and South Node. Then the cycle begins again. For night charts, the planetary period starts with the Moon, Saturn, etc. Firdar provides the astrologer an overview of points in life from a bird’s eye view. It can be made more precise when carefully analyzing the planet’s dignity, influence, and power to act in the chart. During that Planet’s period the qualities of that planet in the chart become activated. It becomes part of the backdrop for the events in the life. Here we take a quick look at Meghan Markle’s Firdar.

For the past decade, Meghan Markle was in a Mars period. Mars rules her 10th house and the main theme of her life at that time had been the career and public image. Mars shows issues however, by the fact that Mars is in the sign of its fall, and inside the malefic 12th house. As an actress, she struggled for A-list success, but with the Sun in Leo (as “Me”) trine the Midheaven this provided enough influence to get a role on the TV show Suits. She also began a lifestyle website around this period. She also met and married Prince Harry, and there was tremendous goodwill toward her, so this Mars certainly wasn’t all bad of course.

Presently, she’s in her Sun period and it’s quite powerful. Meghan Markle is very famous and talked about all over the world, but not necessarily for the best reasons. Although, some say there is no such thing as bad publicity.  This Sun in Leo (very royal!) conjunct Meghan’s 2nd house of esteem as well as finance provides greater fame and money than Mars ever did. The Sun in a woman’s chart signifies the male in her life, and so marriage to Prince Harry certainly fits the bill for that major catapult to the top! The Sun in Leo (as “Me”) aspecting the MC/IC axis continues to provide that fuel to be in the spotlight, but this golden period can only last for another 6-7 years.

Mercury as the little Red Devil.

By the time Meghan Markle gets to her Venus period, which will occur around the age of 49, there will be a drop in dignity, as Venus in Virgo is debilitated in her chart. During this future period, the power of the Sun to catapult her as before, while still powerful, will only go so far as it once did during those Mars years, but she’ll be much older, and unless she can find another frog to kiss, it won’t be the same fairy tale. There is no aspect between Sun and Venus to influence her. Instead, Venus will be controlled by Mercury, the planet of necessity, and influenced by the fallen Mars that forms a sextile to Venus.

Mercury is combusted and rules the malefic 12th house. This makes Mercury akin to the little red devil on the shoulder. Mercury conjuncts the North Node which increases its capacity for self-undoing as Lord 12. Here, Mercury gives her enough rope to hang. Mercury is located on the Praesepe Cluster, an unfortunate group of fixed stars which denote being swept away by too many desires, as well as opposing the outer planet Uranus (planet of endings and separation) by antiscion. This Mercury influence has already been witnessed by the major event in Meghan’s life, which occurred when she and Prince Harry left the royal family quite dramatically in 2020 for Oprah and Netflix.

So, with that being said, we can get an idea of how this Mercury might play out again during the less dignified Venus era. This Mercury makes a sextile aspect to her Lord 1 Moon, as herself, and Lord 7 Saturn, Prince Harry. For the outer planet fans, we can see planet Neptune located on the 6th/12th house axis, showing that when problems inevitably crop-up, they become overwhelming since Neptune is the great ocean god also known as the earth-shaker.

Mercury, planet of commerce, also rules the 3rd house of digital communication and daily routine, so with Venus tucked in the 3rd house, Meghan Markle might choose to return to her lifestyle blogging days, which she did quite well, before she married into the royal family, and could find success in that endeavor again. Success in writing about daily routines and luxury is a potential. So, let’s hope she chooses this more positive Mercury manifestation during her mature Venus years.
